Michael Pullis

Title: Associate dean of the College of Education

Background: Pullis grew up in a family of educators in southern Illinois. His professional focus has always been on students with behavioral and learning problems. He was a classroom teacher in both Illinois and California and has worked with children as young as 3 and as old 21 as 19. Before coming to MU he worked at the University of Texas at Dallas. His research topics have included social-emotional aspects of learning problems, behavior disorders, teacher stress, helping teachers deal with troubled students, and post-traumatic stress reactions. He has worked overseas and in the U.S. helping teachers deal with children and youth who have been in civil wars or natural catastrophes.
