Carlos Sun

Title: Associate professor of civil and environmental engineering

Background: Sun lived in four continents — Asia, Europe, South America and North America — before settling in Columbia. He was a practicing electrical engineer in aircraft information systems before earning his doctorate in civil engineering from the University of California- Irvine. He was a visiting postdoctoral researcher in intelligent transportation systems with the California PATH program at the University of California-Berkeley. He taught at the University of Southern California and Rowan University in New Jersey before coming to MU in 2001. He has published more than 50 articles in scientific journals and refereed conference proceedings.
